The Sound of Music

This 1958 classic by Rodgers and Hammerstein tells the true story of Maria von Trapp, a struggling novitiate who becomes governess to a widowed Navy officer's children in 1930s Austria. As the political problems of Nazi occupation collide with domestic ones, Maria uses music to bring the family together, and falls in love with the Captain and his children in the process. The show is a testament to the real-life bravery of those who chose to follow their conscience during one of the darkest periods in history, and to the wonderful power of music to inspire us and bring us together. The show includes such favorites as: "Do-Re-Mi," "Edelweiss," "Climb Every Mountain," and "My Favorite Things," songs most of us know by heart. Come celebrate this amazing show, and let us fill your hearts with the sound of music!
