PROOF AUDITION NOTICE
The Historic Holly Theatre is excited to announce auditions for all roles in Proof by David Auburn. PRODUCTION TEAM: Director: Sean Newman Assistant Director: Sarah Groves Stage Manager: Briana Conway Assistant Stage Manager: Sadie Wallace David Auburn’s Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning play Proof is a captivating and incredibly personal look at a young woman’s struggle as she comes to terms with the passing of her brilliant father and grapples with the question of how much of his genius (and his mental illness) she might inherit. For this production, we are seeking four actors, as well as four understudies. Understudies will have one guaranteed performance during the run of the show at a date to be decided. Auditions are open to performers ages 18 and older. CONTENT ADVISORY: This play contains mature language and themes and involves some onstage intimacy. We advise everyone auditioning to look into the play and make sure that they are comfortable with the content prior to auditioning. AUDITIONS: Friday, November 1st from 6 pm-10 pm in the Black Box at the Holly Theatre Callbacks will be held on Sunday, November 3rd from 6 pm-9 pm PERFORMANCES: 9 performances from February 14th-March 2nd Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm Sundays at 2:00 pm REHEARSALS:

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN: **All Roles are open to individuals of all racial backgrounds and gender identities.** ROBERT: 50s, a brilliant mathematician and professor. CATHERINE: 25, his daughter who has been looking after him. CLAIRE: 29, Robert’s oldest daughter and Claire’s concerned older sister. HAL: 28, a mathematician and Robert’s former student.
