Holly Theater Company
The Holly Theater Company is always looking for new volunteers to help with our productions. If you would like to express an interest in getting involved behind the scenes, please complete this form.
Sound Technicians
The sound technician is the master sound creator for a theatrical production. These professionals not only keep the microphones that singers use problem free, but create soundscapes for theatrical productions ranging from musicals to straight plays. The sound technician is in charge of running the audio equipment during a performance or public event as well as for the quality of the sound during the performance. Skills sets required to do the job include the ability to run a sound board, to create audio recordings for the performances and to work with the director or production manager to create the sound for a show. The level of experience required depends on the production. However, all persons interested in learning are welcome to volunteer, regardless of the level of experience. |
Lighting Technicians
Lighting design for the theater is an important component of the production of any play. In addition to providing necessary visible light, lighting designers contribute greatly to creating the artificial world of the play, and have just as much artistic talent as any actor or director. Lighting design for the theater is a vital, and yet often overlooked, part of theatrical design. In addition to the obvious role of making actors visible in a darkened theater, good lighting design can help establish the mood and setting of a play. In addition, lighting can be used to draw focus to a particular actor or area of the stage. |
