The Kurt Thomas Band will be performing alongside other talented musicians at The Historic Holly Theater on August
24th at 7 p.m. to raise money for Dahlonega native Melissa Singletary Carruth. Melissa Carruth at the age of 35, was diagnosed with stage three Breast Cancer in March of 2013. She has been surrounded by family and friends ever
since the diagnosis and they have rallied to show their support through a concert benefit and fund raising effort known as “Sweet Melissa Fights Back”.
Kurt Thomas commented, “It is a privilege to be able to donate the time and talent of the Kurt Thomas Band for such a deserving individual. Proceeds from the concert will go directly to help Melissa and her family to pay for cancer treatments and overall medical expenses”. He further commented, “I’m just happy to help a wonderful and long-time friend. Our prayers are with the Carruth family as they battle this disease”.
Melissa S. Carruth graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1996 and attended Gainesville State College where she received her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Dental Hygiene in 2002.
