Nathan Gerrells

nathanheadshot Nathan Gerrells has been involved in the children's theater programming for many years.  He volunteers for the majority of the Holly Children's Theatre productions, directing many of them, and instructs some of the Summer Camps most years.  He is the competition team stage director (In 2009, he will be taking the 8-12 year old troupe to the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta and the 12-18 year old team on a cruise festival competition!)


Prior to 2006, Nathan volunteered as assistant director, intern, and technical crew for many children's theatre shows. 

In  2006, Nathan Co-Directed the Jungle Book Summer Camp and assisted with instruction in the 5-6 year All About Arts! camp. In the Fall of 2006, Nathan was the director of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," which was by far the best-selling children's theater show ever at the Holly.

In 2007, Nathan was the stage director and co-choreographer for the Holly kids who brought Disney's the Jungle Book Kids to the 2007 National Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta in January (winning third place in the USA.. Nathan also won a "best director" award from Disney/MTI), the Director of the Hit "HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL" in the Summer of 2007, the Stage Director/Acting Instructor for the "Almost High School Musical" Summer camp, and the Assistant Director of "Schoolhouse Rock LIVE! Jr.". 

In 2008, Nathan directred the Competition Team that WON FIRST PLACE at the National Performing Arts Festival in DisneyWorld in January and directed "Seussical" in the Spring (which performed for sold out crowds and over 6,000 students!).

Nathan is a fifth grade teacher at Long Branch Elementary School in Dahlonega and also performs at the Holly in mainstage productions from time to time. He is also working on his Masters Degree in Education at NGCSU.
