The Holly Children's Education Program 2010 Camps and Workshops! Storybook Theater (3-5yr olds) Tuition $100.00 Dates: July 5-9 You are never too young to start gaining the confidence to get on stage! This class includes 18 hours of instruction and 1 hour of presentation. These 18 hours will be taken in a summer day camp for 5 days from 9:00-12:00am. Students will learn about stage movement (though not expected to memorize) through a “reader’s theater” type format. The children will then perform Rumpelstiltskin read either by the teacher or a teen intern. The performance will be at 11:00am on Friday, July 9th. Students will receive a certificate certifying that they have completed 15 hours of Performing Arts Instruction. Hansel and Gretel (6-8yr olds) Tuition $100.00 Dates: July 2 & 5-9 This class includes 18 hours of instruction and 1 hour of presentation. These 18 hours will be taken in a summer day camp for 5 days from 1:00-4:00pm. Students will learn about stage movement, memorization skills, and dialogue. Simple memorization required. The students will then perform Hansel and Gretel and this version has many fun and colorful characters (for instance, the 7 dwarves save Hansel and Gretel from the witch.) Performance will be at July 9th at 2:00pm on the downstairs stage. Students will receive a certificate certifying that they have completed 15 hours of Performing Arts Instruction. Beauty and the Beast #1 (9-13yr olds) Tuition $200.00 Dates: July 12-16 & 19-24 Beauty and the Beast, the classic French fairy tale, was written in 1740. This story by Jeanne-Marie Le Prince de Beaumont is the timeless tale of love that grows based on the heart of a person, not his appearance. This will be the most educational and fun camp you can possibly send your child to this summer! (Ok, so we might be a little bias!) This class includes 60 hours (minus lunch break) of instruction and 4 hours of presentation. These 60 hours will be taken in a summer day camp for 10 days from 9-3pm. Students will be learning stage movement, choreography, memorization skills, dialogue and vocal coaching through the musical production of this classic children’s story. Performances will be on the downstairs stage at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 23rd and Saturday, July 24th.
