BEAR ON THE SQUARE, APRIL 19, 2008: Do you have chi ldren or grandchildren? Or, are you planning on
attending the 12th Annual Bear on the Square Mountain Music Festival in
Dahlonega? Don't miss the traditional play, "Goldilocks and the Three
Bears.. on the Square" at presented by The Holly Children's Theatre, outdoors, at no admission charge, on the town square!
The play was written by local playwright Tim Quigley and is adapted for
adults or teens to present for children (although adults have been
known to enjoy watching the kids in the audienc e
participate in this
interactive show almost more than the kids themselves!) It is a mixed
up tale of the traditional story of Goldilocks intertwined with the
true story of how a real bear cub wandered into Dahlonega's town square
in 1996. Children from the audience are given lines and/or invited up
onto stage to play the flowers, trees, firefighters, tourists, and more
(and given costume pieces of course). The audience also makes the
sound effects for the production. A great show to bring your camera to!
The show is part of the BEAR ON THE SQUARE MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL held in
Dahlonega April 18--20. Come make a day of it and enjoy workshops,
music, crafts, children's events and more at this annual festival. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON BEAR ON THE SQUARE FESTIVAL.

11am and 1pm... To be performed OUTDOORS in Front of Park Place Hotel!

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Holly Children’s Theatre
presents SEUSSICAL Live On Stage, March 13-16 combining
13 of Dr. Seuss’ works in a fanstastical, magical, musical extravaganza!
Notable composers Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty have lovingly brought
to life in Seussical all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including
The Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant, Gertrude McFuzz, Lazy Mayzie,
and the Whos of Whoville! These
classic, colorful tales are seamlessly brought together by JoJo, a young
boy and “thinker of strange and wonderful thinks”! As each story
unfolds you will marvel at how relevant and profound Seuss’s subtle
themes are; making this musical one that appeals to all ages. The score
emerges as a Seussian gumbo of musical styles, ranging from Latin to
pop, swing to gospel, and R&B to funk!
Shows run at 7 p.m. March 13-16
and 2 p.m. March 15-16. All shows will be on the main stage of the Holly Theatre
and are presented by seven adult leads, one child lead, and a chorus
and supporting cast of 22 youth. Tickets cost $5 for students/children
and $9 for adults.
