Competition Troupes
12-18 Year Old Competition Troupe

We now have a year-round competition troupe ages 12-18 at the Holly.  Eligible members are those that have already competed with the Holly and are in the age range noted.  This year's team is thus the Disney cast below, plus our oldest members from our 2007 award-winning  6-12 year old team.  Auditions to join the team to compete aboard a festival CRUISE will be held next year.  Check back or join the Holly email mailing list to be sure to get updated when auditions are held!

FRIDAY, APRIL 25th, 2008:  THE HOLLY COMPETITION TEAM PERFORMED FOR TOUR DE GEORGIA

 The Holly Children's Theatre Performance team performed selections from SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK and also solos/monologues that won FIRST PLACE at the NATIONAL PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL in ORLANDO in JANUARY for Tour de Georgia this week.Par  Click here to find out more about: TOUR DE GEORGIA!  Check back soon for photos of this performance.

  The Holly Children's Theatre Competition Team Wins 1st Place at The National Performing Arts Festival in DisneyWorld! 

January 18-19, 2008, The Holly Children's Theatre competed in The National Performing Arts Festival in Walt DisneyWorld and Won the following honors for their performance of School House Rock, Live! Jr. and in the Solo Competition:

*Superior Ranking for Schoolhouse Rock (highest possible)

*Carly Berg: Stage Presence in Schoolhouse Rock
*Sarah Peavy: Overall Performance in Schoolhouse Rock
*Benny Higgins: Overall Performance in Schoolhouse Rock
*Kacey Willis: Best Monologue for "Braces"
*Benny Higgins: Best male Vocal Performance for "Moving too Fast"
*Carly Berg: Best female vocal performance for "Popular"

 CompetitionTeam members are: Carly Berg, Sarah Peavy, Matt Fogleman, Benny Higgins, Lexie Brown, Anna Huffman, Emily Soroka, John Boyes, Georgia Stansell, Ali Willis, Kacey Willis, and Kristin LaCount.

6-12 Year Old Competition Troupe

jtfThe 2006-2007 Holly Children's Theatre 6-12 Year Old Competition Troupe competed at the National Invitational Junior Theatre Festival in January and won third place in the USA for overall performance and fifth place in dance! The troupe performed 15 minutes of "Disney's the Jungle Book Kids" for adjudicators from Music Theatre International and Disney.  jtfnathan

Individual awards to Holly Children's Theatre cast & crew also included a "Hardest Working" award to 12 year old Jaime Certusi (chosen from 1200 competitors), a "Best Director" award to Nathan Gerrells, a "Best Music Director" award to Kate McElliott, and Junior All-Star Awards to Jaime Certusi and Jacob Allen

The troupe was directed by Nathan Gerrells, Musically Directed by Kate McElliott, Coordinated by Brenda Wasserman and Brenda Newman, and Choreographed by Nathan Gerrells and Student Jaime Certusi.

 

There was a surprise guest at the conference, ZAC EFRON, who came to meet and talk to the kids...  AAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!  See photo of him below at conference...

The 2008-2009 Holly Children's Theatre 6-12 Year Old Competition Troupe will once again compete in the National Invitational Junior Theatre Festival, in January of 2009.... Tentatively, the group will be performing 15 minutes from "Disney's Aristocats Kids."  Auditions will be held in the late Summer or Fall of 2008.
